DAMN.....that was a LONG server update. Our host, EmuXhaven, has got themselves a NEW BOX! =) So anyway...I wanted to let you all know, and tell your families & friends while you're at it, that Silver Translations WILL NEVER DIE! I have put too much heart & soul into this game site. Besides, too many people around the world depend on this site to understand what is going on in the game in the first place. I will keep it alive even if I have to change hosts someday. DON'T WORRY!

WHAT A WAY TO START OF THE NEW YEAR!!! RADIANT SILVERGUN IS NOW WORKING IN MAME v103 !!! It is not up to full speed and the sound / music isn't all there yet, but.....it is still quite playable =) FINALLY, millions of people around the world will be able to see this marvel of game design. Mind you the Saturn version is still far superior with the added level, full story w/ voice acting & FMVs for the opening / ending.

I have just learned of a website that has all three versions of the Radiant Silvergun OSTs. Even the limited MINIDISC!! Go to the "Links" page under "Game Fan related sites" and check out "Galbadia Hotel". It features DIRECT downloads of 100s of game soundtracks. When you get to the site, go to mp3s in the upper right corner & look up Radiant Silvergun when the page comes up. May be a bit slow, but it works =)

Ben.Shinobi's links have been updated again. He has a nice DVD of his OWN playthrough and other videos for DL. Also the FULL RS soundtrack is there as well!! Under the "English Radiant Silvergun sites" & the "Game Fan related sites". One more amazing fact I read about in PLAY magazine...Radiant Silvergun & Ikaruga are part of a.....TRILOGY!!!!! Which means someday we will see yet another great one from designer Hiroshi Iuchi to wrap it all up!!
August 28, 2005
I have updated the LINKS page with 2 good sites. A nice guy named Benjamin emailed me about this site and mentioned his fanaticism for RS. Check out his 2 links under the "Game Fan Related Sites" section.

CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Teski of Ohio, the winner of the Radiant Silvergun DVD!!!!
July 10, 2005
We have waited a while to be able to do this. For all of your support of this site and Treasure's best shooter, Silver Translations presents its FIRST CONTEST!!
The Prize: A DVD copy of the RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING VHS tape of R.S. as shown on the "videos" page played by ECM-S.I, published by Shinseisha vol.44. This tape is VERY RARE and out of print. It shows a score of exactly 24,099,790 on stage 4!! You have NEVER seen chain combos like this video can show you. Learn from the master.
The Rules: Answer the following questions correctly and you will be entered into the contest. The answers, & your REAL name, must be in by August 11th. The winner's name will be printed & picked at random. A hat drawing so to speak. Email: silvergun0011@aol.com
The Questions:
#1 - What was the name of the wildly popular import game shop in California throughout the 90's? This was one of the first places to acually sell import video games from Japan on a national scale.
#2 - What was the name of the shop later changed to?
#3 - ..and...yet again...what name was the shop / online store given for the 3rd and final time as they merged with another media company? (this store no longer exists)

An unknown piece of history. I found an old IGN article that tells of the smashed plans to bring R.S. to the America by way of the PSX:
Off the Record, Vol. 33
The odd story of Radiant Silvergun's demise is told.

Radiant Silvergun Cancelled
"The strange story of the US publishing corps' failure to deliver the
Japanese Saturn game Radiant Silvergun to the PlayStation, is not a story
we here that much anymore from the rank and file spy syndicate. But early
last week, we heard this one from an excellent source close to Crave Entertainment
that shed light on some of Sony's more interesting publishing policies.
Crave planned to publish that effects-heavy Treasure-developed shooter to
PlayStation, but Sony dropped the bomb on the Long Beach-based publisher,
refusing Crave. The reason? It was 2D. That's right. It's been a good two
to three years since we heard that reason for denying a game company US
publishing rights. But there it is again.
The more significant reason, however, is that the game is a sprite-heavy game, filled with lots of sprite -based background layers arranged with parallax scrolling techniques. The Saturn was made for pushing sprites, and the PlayStation was made to push polygons, and that worried Sony, because Radiant Silvergun would have probably looked awful on PlayStation.
So, Crave had to cancel its plans, and instead the world received Judge Dredd (although not from Crave). Now, you tell me, which would have been the better outcome?"

Happy July the fourth! Thanks to all of you for your viewing support this past year. We have passed 20,000 hits!! I am still alive and working on getting some more translated Radiant Silvergun material out to you all in the future. I have about 2 or 3 articles with interviews from japanese game magazines...PLUS some other things as well. Also I still have plans to feature the official R.S. gameplay video tape, as shown on the videos page, for DL someday....although that will still be a while.
October 15, 2004
We have a NEW story element for Radiant Silvergun now!! This is from the game manual, page 2. Remember that thing that looks like a timeline? Well, we've got it for you now. Head on over to the "Translations" page to get the "Personal Memo of Igarashi Tsuyoshi"!!
September 27, 2004
Another site update....go to the "Translations" page for the translated items now. Also the documents have been shifted to actual WEB LINKED pages instead of a download set. Many people thought the .mht files were a bit odd & some were even having trouble opening / viewing them. We want this to be for EVERYBODY!! So enjoy =)
September 24, 2004
IT IS HERE!!! Radiant Silvergun's English translation is now complete! This package is the first release that details the story, Link Stage, and developer notes about this wonderful title. A special notice though, in the weeks/months to come there will be more story & interview elements added to the set. So PLEASE check back from time to time! =) Go to the "Current Projects" page to download it! Also check out the "Soundtrack +" page, we have a translation of the "Soundtrack -" insert notes. We have MANY downloads to perepare for the future...just wait 'till you see what we have in store for you! Also special thanks to "Dogonabus" for letting me know what that odd RS review was on the "Artices" page.
August 6, 2004
Okay....so forget the July release, BUT we are still on track and moving VERY well!! The project has just gotten a lot more ambitious so it is taking longer now. Hold on just a few more weeks or more and we will rock this thing into outter space!!
June 3, 2004
Silver Translations now has not one.....but TWO translators on staff!!! Pierre 'Saffran' Bancov & PLN were both aquired this past month!! We are now back on track and headed for a FULL translated release VERY soon!!! As well as other linear notes & an interview with the producer of the game =) I am shooting for a COMPLETE package release by the end of July! We have waited over 3 years for this day.......
March 27, 2004
I have added a nice shot of an actual arcade machine of Radiant Silvergun up and running in the "Current Projects Page" under the "View of the actual arcade version" link. Also on the Projects page I have added a link to the Ikaruga English translations on GameFAQs.com since the story was taken out of the English Game Cube version....I didn't know this until just recently. By the way, MAME, the world famous, massive arcade emulator, has just recently added Radiant Silvergun to their cracked/working gamelist. Only the title screen comes up right now, but at least the Titan ST-V hardware emulation is on the move.

NEW UPDATES! Many new pictures and items have been placed throughout the site. Thanks to Simon Fagioli from the UK, who was kind enough to send them to me a while ago out of his own free will! Check the Soundtrack, Artwork, Videos, & Articles pages to see these rare items. Also...if or when I buy Ikaruga for the GC, I may just take down the translation I did since there isn't much need for it. I will know better when I see the game for myself what was edited, taken out, or left in =)
January 1, 2003
Well although the Translation of R.S. is on hold for a bit....I am now consumed with the surreal savior known as Panzer Dragoon Orta. I was actually able to secure one of the white limited Xboxes that was made by Sega as a tribute to the game!! So in light of the recent release of this title, Silver Translations would like to give you all a gift! A VERY special wallpaper that I made myself >>> Dragoon Logo HERE. Original design embellished from P.D. Saga/Azel.
August 19, 2002
A little shift in plans guys...we now have a fairly solid story translation for IKARUGA! All you need to know is written in the docs in the zip file which should speak for themselves. We are however looking for help on this since our translator skipped out on us, especially when the game comes out on Sept 5. Go to the "Current Projects" page to download the Translation ver1.0 now! For all who need to preorder this title, seeing as how NCS has closed them, try www.videogameimports.com. They are basically like the Euro. version of NCS and still have quite a few copies left.

For Those of you who downloaded track 21 from the soundtrack page, you will need to get it again as there was a problem with it. Somehow it was exactly the same song as track #7, the orchestrated version of Evasion. It has now been uploaded as the OSV of Evasion which is what track 21 is on the CD. Good lookin' out Ed on the downloads page, thanks again =) By the way.....our translator is still trying to get his job situation worked out.....which is to say he is still looking for one. Don't worry, the project will continue in the near future. I appreciate all of the compliments our site has received!
February 17, 2002
Yet another button is added to the mix! The ever popular "Artwork Section" is now up for viewing, and will be updated for the next few days with some of the most amazing and unknown Fan Art I have ever seen! I have scoured the net for ANYTHING related to Radiant Silvergun, and what I came across was the actual Treasure Webring in Japan. You see the Japanese websites for R.S. are MUCH more comprehensive than the English speaking ones.....UNTIL NOW! Also at this time we would like to ask anyone that has the following items (or knows where they are) of Radiant Silvergun to please email us and let us get some pics or scans of them for the site. These are the items which we know exist, but do not have:
1. Radiant Silvergun Baseball Cap - given
out at the Tokyo Game Show
2. Nylon Radiant Silvergun Jacket - i think
only given out as a promotion
3. Official artbook - Han's Works (see "Articles"
page)
4. 3 different Silvergun keychains
5. Silvergun Plush toys
6. "Link", "No Refuge",
& or "Be Praying" CD Rom for Win&Mac
7. "R.S Soundtrack -" & "R.S.
Single CD"
Or any other items listed here: http://www2.incl.ne.jp/~mo2/silvergun_goods.html
Also any magazine articles which are not posted on the "Articles" page. Please email tvgconsult@aol.com . You WILL get credit for any donated pics or items as well.
February 11, 2002
NOW we are cookin'! The site has a bit more meat to chomp on as you can see to the left. The complete and very RARE soundtrack has been posted for your listening pleasure, scans of magazine articles and other various items are in the Articles page, & the ever unknown VHS tape of Radiant Silvergun is of course linked to the Videos button. The entire day has been dedicated to updating the site for all of you so please take your time and stay a while......much more to come as our translator may be finished with the full game translation soon, not to mention I found some very esoteric Japanese R.S. sites on the net these last few days. All will be known & heard of in the end, right here at Silver Translations!
February 4, 2002
A little something extra for all true Radiant Saturn fans =) Take a look at the new Saturn Tech specs. linked from the current projects page via the 'Format' line. Click on the 'Sega Saturn' link to see the REAL reason Radiant Silvergun was able to run well on this system. Note the '2D Capabilities' box, I found it quite intriguing......I'm sure you will too.
February 2, 2002
The site has now been revamped to look like the Radiant Silvergun design scheme. Black background, white text, & a splash of red here & there. Quite slick if I do say so myself. Most of this day has been dedicated to the English storyboard document, and DAMN does it look good!! No BS! I also found a way to post it as one single file for you to download so you will not have to keep waiting for the pics to pop up on the site if it were a page linked from a button. It is the 'Web Archive single file *.mht' format by way of the 'save as' feature in MS IE. We've gotten a TON of stuff done this weekend so far and we don't plan to stop. Thanks for all your attention.....as the counter seems to say. ID1129 (but thats another story)
February 1, 2002
I have some very interesting news to report. I finally got a hold of our translator! He got back from Japan recently and he has expressed EXTREME enthusiasm for this project =) He will be getting in touch with our assistant translator as well to help out. SO....it looks as if Silver Translations is now officially back in business! Now on to the meat of the day. Thanks to the posted Ebay auctions of Gary Evans (videogameya), who lives in Japan, I have acquired some rare items related to this game. The first is the Official Radiant Silvergun Tip Guide with level strategies, maps, story, character artwork, AND an interview with Hiroshi Iuchi; Producer & Screenplay writer of the game....which might I add we will also be translating! The second item is the VHS tape of the game's scoring strategies and other visuals like the movies and game play. I did not even know this existed until I bothered to look. Needless to say, I have a bit of scanning to do. Now the third item was from a man in MD, US. It is the original R.S. Sound Track by Hitoshi Sakimoto; (one of 2 who did Final Fantasy Tactics OST). I have been looking for this OST for nearly 3 years! (I'll be putting these songs up on the site soon when I find a way) The CD insert has some paragraphs written by Hitoshi himself....which of course.....we will be translating. Like I said before, this will be THE #1 site to go to for ALL Radiant Silvergun Translations, hence the site name in case you didn't pick up on that ;)
January 28, 2002
Well ..it seems the site is gaining momentum fast! In that case let me give you all our first official SECOND update .if that makes sense. I have been doing screen shots like mad crazy of the game and intro movie. The quality is even better than I thought possible by way of my Snappy brand video capture card, courtesy of Play Inc. I also began a rough draft of the storyboard style document with the English text just below the screen captures, and I must say .it looks FABULOUS!! I also got my feel for graphic design back as I was making it and decided to put the names of the characters in color respective to their dress attire or look .throw in a little ascii art and BAM it makes the text come alive. Hey attention to detail is what REAL gamers want right? Otherwise we would not be playing such a historical game. Also be sure to check the links page as I will be adding some extra features/pages to make paying attention to this title a little easier. We have HUGE plans for this site; To be THE most comprehensive hub for this game in its entirety. So keep it locked right here at The Silver ...you wont regret it ; )
January 15, 2002
We're back......and we are here to stay! For those
of you who are not familiar with this site, we started almost two years
ago. While progress was going well in terms of translation, I became too
ambitious =( Also one of our translators slipped away to study in Japan
and the other got tied up with college as well here in the US. This time
we are doing it right! Focusing only on ONE game......RADIANT SILVERGUN!!
THE GREAT SHOOTER BY TREASURE !! The "Green Monster" (our lead
translator) is comming back to the US on the 20th so I will call him and
give him a tape of the game played in full from start to finish so he/they
can translate the spoken dialogue to Japanese and then to English..its much
easier that way =) After which I will proofread/edit it and consult with
them. As stated a LONG time ago, since there is no actual text/subtitles
to patch in the game, I will be making an HTML style doc. to view so that
you may read along while you play/watch the intro and game play. The doc.
will contain screenshots that go along with the text so you will know EXACTLY
where you are and who is speaking. We will also be translating the manual...................WORD
FOR WORD. FINNALY the English speaking population will be able to study
and realize the epic saga that is Radiant Silvergun!!!
